I am an 88 year old female 'amateur horticulturalist' from Louisiana now living in the Rogue River Valley of Oregon since 2014. I am obsessed with old roses! In Louisiana was limited to growing Teas, Chinas, Noisettes, a few Bourbons and limited other classes. Now that I can grow almost any of the old roses from the original classes of Gallicas, Albas, Damasks, Centifolias and Mosses and more, I am limited only by my decrepitude and budget. At my age I am also limited in computer skills, so please forgive me if I will opt out of sharing and interchange with other members at this time. I bought a piece of property in Talent, OR and inherited over 45 modern roses. So far I have successfully identified and/or donated most of them to the City of Talent gardens and to other rose lovers. I will keep three: Mr. Lincoln, Earth Angel Parfuma and a gorgeous deep yellow blend floribunda with outstanding fragrance and good health. The identity search continues for that beauty, hence my membership in HMF, a godsend web site for me. Thank you so much for being here.
