Many years ago, I made a fleeting acquaintance with a hybrid tea rose that has haunted me since. It was light cream coloured with a bit of a blush at the tips of the petals, and had a strong beautiful scent with a hint of vanilla. The name I have forgotten except that it was (I think) Madame, a very specifically French first name and a definitely German surname, something like Francoise Meyer or Mireille Schmidt. Can anyone help?

Johannes, can you be more specific on "many years ago"? Before 1982, 1976, or 1953 for example? It means we can ignore many of the later possibilities.

It was in Copenhagen, the Botanical Garden, ca. 1960

Aha.... Getting closer. Probably if you contact the Botanical Garden and ask if they have records of the plants (roses) growing in, say 1970, you would be a step nearer to finding out what this rose was.

I have asked a long time ago, but I suppose it's worth another try. Thanks

Does any other HelpMeFind member have any Copenhagen Botanical Garden listing of plants?
