This is a repeat from the General/Miscellaneous category):
1. Who was Mme Leonie Viennot?
2. Does anyone know anything about the 1891 hybrid perpetual 'Monsieur de Morand'? (How tall and wide does it grow? Will it tolerate any shade? Who was Morand?)

You may read one account of the naming of 'Souv. de Mme LĂ©onie Viennot here:
http://www.rosarosam.com/articles/lloyd_chapman/souvenir_de_mme_leonie_viennot.htm

To read what the books say about Monsieur de Morand, please check the references on the rose page. I had no luck on de Morand in Lyon, but the name is prominent (bridge, hotel), so I'll bet you could track it down using google and a lot of patience.

Viennot was a horticulturist in Dijon. He was specialised in trees (fruits, pines etc), he was also designing gardens and public parks. He had an interesting rose collection.

There were a Viennot 'father', a Viennot 'Son' and a 'Rigaut-Viennot'.
I do not know for certain who Mme Leonie was related to.
