Bought this one on a whim (because of the fragrance) and I am very glad I did! The whole plant has a real character, a certain je ne sais quoi that always draws my attention.

The foliage is ornamental; the nicest of any modern rose I have seen. It is dark green, flat, rounded, held horizontally, and exceptionally shiny. The canes are very fat and strongly vertical. Vigour seems decent.

The fragrance is intense and sweet, so the description of 'moderate fragrance' seems off; the only thing I noticed was that it fades and simplifies with age - the flowers are very long lived for me, but only the freshly opened ones have a really jaw dropping smell. The colour is a light lavender pink that lightens towards white (but still looks clean and fresh) as the flowers age.

We had our record hottest summer ever last year - weeks of 30 degree days without reprieve, and no rain for three months, and this rose was not bothered in any way. I would say it is superlatively heat tolerant!

Only downsides I have noticed are a tendency to get black spot, and the repeat is quite slow. I don't spray much, so it is a mark of how much I like this rose that if see any BS I spray it!
