Mr. Moore
My favorite conversations with Mr. Moore weren't on roses.  We would  talk roses, but we would also talk boysenberries, blackberries, lilacs, pomegranates..  his life as a child in Ivanhoe, his brother and about the meaning of life.  I found the latter subject especially interesting.

When he would explain to me how the Bible shouldn't be translated by a literal translation as we are not sure of how long a day was.. it could be a day, or a year, or a century or thousands of centuries and once we got past that obstacle he would go on and while I was sitting there, listening intently, I would understand life, it's meaning and I would understand Mr. Moore, as a very spiritual man who knew that God was in control of his life.   I'd look up and a few hours would have gone by with him in his recliner and me on the floor sitting cross-legged.   I'd get
up, stiffly, and have to go, hoping that I would remember what he said but by the time I got into my car and backed out of the driveway it would be a memory that was fleeting, at best. However, the essence of what he told me always stayed with me in some form and I've drawn upon it over the past year or so for strength always remembering one of his mantra's, we choose to be happy or not and he always chose happiness and that is a great life lesson to learn.

Thank you, Mr. Moore.
