Origin:
Bred by Dr. Dennison H. Morey (United States, 1969).
Class:
Hybrid Tea.  
Bloom:
Dark red.  Strong, tea fragrance.  60 petals.  Average diameter 7".  Large, very double, borne mostly solitary, cluster-flowered, in small clusters, cupped bloom form.  Prolific, blooms in flushes throughout the season.  Large buds.  
Habit:
Upright.  Large, dark green, leathery foliage.  

Height: 3' to 5½' (90 to 165cm).  Width: 2' to 4' (60 to 120cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 6b and warmer.  Can be used for cut flower or garden.  Vigorous.  Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.

The present invention relates to a new and distinct variety of rose plant of the hybrid tea class, which was originated by me by crossing the variety known as "Chrysler Imperial" (Plant Pantent No. 1,167) with an unnamed and unpatented dark red flowered seedling of the variety known as "Zulu Queen" (Plant Patent No. 363)
