Charlotte Brownell was planted Spring 2004 as a small grade 2 rose. It has surpassed any expectations I had for it and then some. She is vigorous, but does need elbow room. This rose has been in constant bloom from June to present. The July and August (90 - 100F) heat didn't phase her at all.

Wow! Thank you for the info! In my tropical climate I will get those temperatures for a whole month. Good to know there's another rose who can take the heat.

This rose takes lots of rain very well, we have had over 17 inches of rain since the start fo the season (way too much for everyone) but the blooms have held up, and age well. It has light pineapple scent to me, but I have a hard time picking up most fragrances.

Bushy growth with medium green, glossy leaves. Grows to at least 48 inches. Blooms are about 3 1/2 - 4 inches across mostly one per stem in the spring with small clusters later in the summer. Form is double but loose. Counted between 25 and 40 petals on most blooms. Slight to moderate fragrance to me. Grows well in zone 5a given a little bit of winter protection (some leaves around the base). Disease resistance is good but some blackspot. Unfortunately you need to watch where you buy this variety as many sources do not offer this variety without RMV.
