Albertine Barbier (France) 1921. R. wichuraiana x 'Mrs. Arthur Waddell'... glossy leaves... Flowers open from shapely buds to rather muddled, full blooms of lobster pink each with a golden base, and paling to blush-pink with age...

..'Albertine' (Barbier 21; R. wichuraiana x Mrs. Arthur Robert Waddel) 13 % carotenoids with only 7% epoxydes. The high content of carotenoids of stages II and III shows that there is no influence of 'Soleil d'Or' here; 'Albertine' belongs to the old generation!

‘Albertine’: Section Synstylae. Rosa luciae x ‘Mrs A.R. Waddell’ (un hybride de thé aux fleurs cuivrées). Obtenu par Barbier en 1921… très épineux, à la fois sarmenteux et buissonnant… Vers la mi-juin, les boutons rouge saumon font éclore des fleurs moyennes où se fondent un rose saumon et un rose à peine cuivré… Ce rosier supporte la mi-ombre mais ses fleurs se fanent très vite au grand soleil. …un peu sensible au mildiou.

Albertine (climber, Barbier 1921) - Excellent rose, non-repeating. Known for its vigour and resistance. The blooms are slightly fragrant and the foliage is glossy green.
