R. Marion Hatton.  New Roses in America
To me the most important American Climber this year is Dr. Cross' Rambler Chevy Chase. It is the progeny of Rosa Soulieana and the Polyantha Eblouissant, and, unlike many of the old Ramblers. has healthy foliage. The flowers, little crimson pompons 11 inches across, are produced in good clusters, and a plant in full bloom made a lovely picture last summer. I would like to see more of this type.
