Roses Worth While for Everybody by George C. Thomas, Jr.
For climbing roses in the South, while the Wichuraiana and hardy Climbers will do well, their blooming season is so short compared with other roses which may be grown that they are not recommended.
There are so many well-known Climbing Teas, Noisettes, and Climbing Hybrid Teas which give good results and from which bloom may be expected during the entire growing season, that it is not considered advisable to recommend as yet some of the newer European introductions of supposedly hardy roses which are put out as being of everblooming habit.
Christine Wright. Cross between Caroline Testout and a Wichuraiana seedling. Placed with Hybrid Tea Climbers on account of the fact that its flowers are large and double, borne singly and in clusters; good form, with a perfect bud and good petalage; color is wild-rose pink; blooms best in spring. A few scattering flowers in autumn. A very satisfactory climbing rose. Foliage lasts well.

Hardy Climbing and Trailing Roses
Christine Wright. — Of strong growing habit with large dark green foliage, immune to disease. The double flowers are very large, of perfect form, bright rosy pink in color and beautiful in bud and when full blown. An exquisite rose; rivalling but by no means equalling the Alida Lovett.

Wichuraiana Ramblers. By Dr. A. H. Williams, Vice-President N.R.S.
The wichuraiana Ramblers fall naturally into two well defined groups:
I. The Early, containing those varieties whose main flowering season is in the month of June. They are mostly hybrids of R. wichuraiana with Teas, H.T.'s, H.P.'s, and Chinas. The trusses are as a rule not large, though they may sometimes contain a dozen or more blooms. The individual flowers are often large, sometimes four or five inches across.
Early Flowering Double Varieties.
Christine Wright. — A strong upright thorny grower (raised by Hoopes & Thomas). Not so well known as it should be. Blooms in small trusses of large double flowers of a bright carmine pink opening to clear pink. It makes a fine pillar Rose.
