Origin:
Bred by Mathias Tantau (1882 - 1953) (Germany, before 1945).
Introduced in United States by Conard-Pyle (Star Roses) in 1945 as 'Cinnabar'.
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1950 as 'Tantau's Triumph'.
Class:
Floribunda, Polyantha.  
Bloom:
Red, brown shading.  Mild fragrance.  Medium, semi-double (9-16 petals), cupped bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Short, spreading.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  
Notes:
Sangerhausen gives a date of 1942 for Tantau's Triumph and lists it as a Hybrid Polyantha.
