Introduced in France by Jules Gravereaux
in 1902 as 'Rosa gallica complicata
Gallica / Provins, Species Cross.
Deep pink, lighter reverse, white center. Strong fragrance. 5 to 7 petals. Average diameter 5". Large, single (4-8 petals), flat bloom form. Once-blooming spring or summer.
Suckers on its own roots, thornless (or almost).
Height of 5' to 10' (150 to 305 cm). Width of 6' to 8' (185 to 245 cm).
USDA zone 4b through 8b. Shade tolerant. Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood.. Prune after flowering is finished.
