Discovered by Pavitt (Unknown, 1858).
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in before 1911 as 'Devoniensis, Climbing'.

Cream.  Strong, tea fragrance.  Large, full (26-40 petals), cupped bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.

USDA zone 6b through 11.  
Ploidy:
Triploid
Notes:
'Devoniensis Clg.' sold by most nurseries in Europe seems to be 'Souvenir de la Malmaison, Clg.'. The ploidy possibly refers to the latter rose.
