While this rose is old and does survive the winter with mounting mulch, it is a poor performer. Vigor is very poor, it's in a location where all other roses do brilliantly. Again it is 17 years old and produces few bloom and has not died off, it is a poor performer I must say. When it does bloom only in spring and fall the few buds it gets are stunning and massive and strongly perfumed. Some years the only blooms sent balled, and never opened at all, or produced another bud, seems to happen in very hot summers. . Other years nice but never great. Wouldn't recommend to new Rosarians. Just my experience here in Denver Colorado.

I find this rose to be quite hardy/vigorous. (in zone 6). It doesn't need a super amount of attention for a hybrid tea. The cutting stems on this rose can get to be "florist" length if you treat the plant right.....nice!

We had a cold, rainy spring in the PNW, and this rose was by far my worst when it came to balling. Bud after bud would fatten and then not open, getting ruined with a disgusting mush of outer petals. I'm astonished that this rose was rated "Good" for rain tolerance.

Now that it has dried up and gotten warmer, this rose is lovely.
