Bred by Mathias Tantau, Jr. (1912 - 2006) (Germany, 1954).
Introduced in United States by Jackson & Perkins Co. in 1954 as 'Alpine Glow'.
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1956 as 'Alpenglühen'.
Class:
Floribunda.  
Bloom:
Vermilion.  Moderate fragrance.  25 to 30 petals.  Average diameter 3.5".  Medium to large, full (26-40 petals), in small clusters, cupped bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Bushy.  Glossy foliage.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).
