Origin:
Bred by Moreau-Robert (France, 1872).
Introduced in Australia by George Brunning - St. Kilda Nurseries in 1876 as 'Madame Moreau'.
Class:
Moss.  
Bloom:
Rose-pink or vermilion, white veining, white edges.  Strong fragrance.  Very large, very double bloom form.  Occasional repeat later in the season.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).

Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).

Notes:
There seems to be more than one variety of 'Mme. Moreau' in commerce. One striped, one white-edged, and perhaps a slightly mossed violet-lavender version.
'Mme Moreau' at Sangerhausen seems to be mislabeled (see References)
