Double White Scots and its variations is the most common rose we find in old cemeteries in our state of New Hampshire. It survives decades of neglect because it is so tough, cold-hardy, resilient and because it multiplies by suckering readily. Even in plots where the rose repeatedly gets mowed down, it persists. We have a nice collection of scots roses, of which white is most often found.

An amazingly tough, cold-hardy rose here in zone 4. Our many scots roses were 'found' roses that we took cuttings or suckers from and came from very old cemeteries, having survived decades of neglect.
