Origin:
Bred by Samuel Davidson McGredy III (United Kingdom, 1931).
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1935 as 'McGredy's Triumph'.
Class:
Hybrid Tea.  
Bloom:
Geranium-red, orange shading, scarlet undertones.  Moderate fragrance.  Very large, double (17-25 petals), borne mostly solitary bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Well-branched.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).

Notes:
The patent application reports a far less specific parentage: "This development if the result of extensive hybridizing of different seedlings of the McGredy strain carried on over a period of many years...It is, therefore, sufficient to state that the seedling rose herein described came from crosses of numerous unnamed seedlings of the McGredy strain.
