Origin:
Bred by Pedro (Pere) Dot (Spain, 1934).
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1937 as 'Carito MacMahon'.
Class:
Hybrid Tea.  
Bloom:
Yellow.  Moderate fragrance.  Large, double (17-25 petals), cupped bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  Large, ovoid buds.  
Habit:
Few or no prickles/thorns, upright.  Large, glossy, dark green, dense foliage.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).

Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).
Notes:
King Alfonso XIII created the title Marquess de Mac-Mahón on September 11, 1920 in favour of Pedro Mac-Mahón y Aguirre, councillor of the Banco de Vizcaya and concillor of the Naval Construction of Bilbaio. His daughter Carolina Mac-Mahón y Jacquet (May 24, 1890 Bilbao - March 17, 1985 Las Arenas-Guecho), the 2nd Marquess of Mac-Mahón (from 1931) was called "Carito". Carito's villa "Rosales" in Neguri, Getxo is still extant. The MacMahon family originated from Newcastle, Northern Ireland. A Terencio Mac-Mahon Mac-Courtin [McCourtain] (d. 1766) married in Bilbao, Spain in 1766 and his brother Patricio (June 24, 1741 Cork - November 29, 1806) also married in Bilbao in 1771.
