Introduced in France by Jean-Pierre Vibert in before 1838 as 'La Sylphide'.
Introduced in Australia by Edwin Smith, Clifton Nursery in 1885 as 'La Sylphide'.

Bloom:

Light pink, salmon-pink shading. Yellowish pink. Strong fragrance. Large, double (17-25 petals), borne mostly solitary, in small clusters, reflexed bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season. Long sepals buds.

Small, dark green foliage.
