Bred by François Lacharme (France, 1863).
Introduced in Australia by Edwin Smith, Clifton Nursery in 1885 as 'Alfred de Rougemont'.
Class:
Hybrid Perpetual.  
Bloom:
Crimson - purple, red highlights.  Moderate fragrance.  Large, double (17-25 petals), borne mostly solitary, in small clusters bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).
