Origin:
Bred by William Paul (1822-1905) (United Kingdom, 1880).
Introduced in Australia by Edwin Smith, Clifton Nursery in 1885 as 'Crown Prince'.
Class:
Hybrid Perpetual.  
Bloom:
Purple, crimson center.  Moderate fragrance.  Very large, semi-double to double bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:

Height: 3' (90cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 5b through 9a.  Very vigorous.  Remove unproductive wood every third year or so.
