Origin:
Bred by François Lacharme (France, 1875).
Introduced in Australia by George Brunning - St. Kilda Nurseries in 1882 as 'Jean Soupert'.

Hybrid Perpetual.  
Bloom:
Dark red.  Strong fragrance.  Large, full (26-40 petals), button-eye bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Disease susceptibility: susceptible to Mildew.

Jean Soupert (February 20, 1834 Dummeldeng - July 17, 1910 Lampertsbierg), Luxemburgian rose breeder. In 1855, his partnership with Pierre Notting in the firm Soupert & Notting began.
