Bishop roses have almost totally disappeared from gardens and they distinguish themselves from the two previous [Rosa Maheka and Rosa holosericea] that they are darker towards the outside burt lighter in the centre. König von Persien [Roi de Perse] and Purpurmantel [Manteau pourpre] used to be famous. We have not seen recently any of importance, if we do not want to count Latour d'Auvergne, Meyerbeer, Pierre Janssens and Triomphe des écarlates among these.
