Very slow growth for me in the past- pulled the pair of them and potted them this summer with lots of manure, compost and mulching to keep them cool. Added slow-release, rose food and spray with a copper fungicide, they currently have re-leafed and are budded out. Water every day or every other day. So far, so good.
*** Growing near Houston, TX: sub tropical zone 9a. Mild winters, hot, extremely humid summers that last half the year. ***
Purchased as a band plant from Heirloom roses Sept 2010.
Sept 2011, A.D. is now about two feet wide and tall.
August 2013- My potted plant is currently a lanky and sparsely foliated 4x3, and will likely enjoy being put in the ground at the new house. Does blackspot occasionally in spring and is very thirsty most of the time. Flowers smell kind of stinky during summer.
8/2014- still haven't planted this one. It never has leaves and is so big...
