A magnificent rose. Hardy, fragrant, beautiful. After three years it is well over six feet tall and the side limbs bend over gracefully. I have it in a partially shaded location and it produces hundreds of blooms. My first single bloomer, it changed my mind about the non-blooming class.

It is a damask and should have strong fragrance. Maybe mislabeled?

My wife can't detect any damask fragrance in roses, but delights in the fragrance of tea scented roses. I can't detect any fragrance in the tea scented roses but love the damask scent.

I am sorry to hear that. It has a distinct and fairly strong scent that is hard to miss. There are hints of lemon. It's hard to miss, so I am afraid that you might have been sent the wrong rose.

Everything you see in books is true about this gem--one of the best roses ever IMHO. Flawless in form and color. Fragrance is moderate to me, starting sweet old rose and fading to bread and grass (to my nose anyway!!). Holds up reasonably well here in Arkansas. Very, very highly recommended.

I have a Madame Hardy that is 2 1/2 years old and has not bloomed. When should I expect my plant to bloom?

hello i'm an italian collector of old roses..i have 3 plants Mm. Hardy and the younger is only 2 years old and bloomed..so i think if after 3 years not bloom there is some ibridization mistake in your plant..or climate problem if is not growing properly..cose is one of the most strongest and fast growing rose of the damask collection the mm hardy.
