Bred by Robert et Moreau (France, 1861).
Introduced in Australia by Exotic Nursery (Australia) in 1866 as 'Montalembert'.
Class:
Hybrid Gallica.  
Bloom:
Lilac, white stripes, crimson stripes, brown stripes.  Moderate fragrance.  Large, double (17-25 petals), globular bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.  
Habit:
Upright.  

Height: up to 39" (up to 100cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).
