Bred by Louis-Joseph-Ghislain Parmentier (Belgium, 1843).
Introduced in Belgium by Louis van Houtte in 1843 as 'Narcisse de Salvandy'.
Introduced in Australia by Giles and Son in 1881 as 'Narcisse de Salvandy'.

Bloom:

Cherry-red, cream edges, yellow stamens. Strong fragrance. 30 to 40 petals. Average diameter 3". Medium to large, full (26-40 petals), borne mostly solitary, cluster-flowered, in small clusters, button-eye, cupped, rosette bloom form. Once-blooming spring or summer.

Habit:

Armed with thorns / prickles. Medium green foliage. 5 leaflets.

Height: 4' (120cm).

Growing:

USDA zone 4b through 8b. Can be used for cut flower or garden.
