Origin:
Bred by Unknown (before 1790). Introduced in France by Godefroy in 1817 as 'Perle d'Orient'.
Class:
Damask, Gallica / Provins, Hybrid Gallica.
Bloom:
Purple to red, violet shading, yellow undertones. Medium, semi-double (9-16 petals) bloom form. Once-blooming spring or summer.
Habit:
Height: 5' to 6' (150 to 185cm).
