Origin:
Bred by Dr. Griffith J. Buck (United States, 1956).
Introduced in United States by Iowa State College in 1962 as 'Andante'.
Class:
Shrub.   (Series: Buck Roses Collection)  
Bloom:
Salmon-pink.  Mild, sweetbriar fragrance.  Average diameter 4.5".  Medium, double (17-25 petals), in small clusters, cupped bloom form.  Occasional repeat later in the season.  Pointed, ovoid buds.  
Habit:
Arching, upright.  Dark green, leathery foliage.  

Height: 5' to 6' (150 to 185cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 4b through 9b.  Hardy.  
Patents:
Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).
Notes:
'Sea of Fire' is also known as 'Feuermeer'.

Griffith Buck specified that the R. laxa, Retzius used was the Morden strain.
