Bred by André Dupont (Du Pont) (France, before 1817). Bred by Unknown Dutch origin (Netherlands, before 1828).
Class:
Centifolia, Gallica / Provins.  
Bloom:
Light pink, ages to white .  Large, semi-double (9-16 petals) bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.  
Habit:
Blue-green foliage.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).
