Origin:
Bred by Mathias Tantau (1882 - 1953) (Germany, 1933).
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1935 as 'Jan Abbing'.
Class:
Hybrid Tea.  
Bloom:
Salmon-pink, orange undertones, rose-pink veining.  Mild fragrance.  Large, double (17-25 petals), borne mostly solitary, cupped bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  Pointed buds.  
Habit:
Tall.  Dark green, leathery foliage.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b and warmer.  Vigorous.  Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.
