Boléro... Maurice Ravel's most widely known and popular composition... became incredibly popular soon after its premiere on November 22, 1928, at the Paris Opéra... First conceived as a ballet and subsequently performed as an independent symphonic work, "Boléro" eventually found its way onto the silver screen. In 1934 Paramount released the firm Bolero, with Carole Lombard and George Raft, in which the music played a significant part. In 1979 Blake Edwards directed the fim 10, with Henry Mancini conducting "Boléro." After Bo Derek tells costar Dudley Moore that "Boléro" is the only music to make love by, the public responded with renewed interest in the music, buying 25,000 copies of it in a ten-day period...
