Notes:
Bertuch's descriptions (1805) of 'grosse Zwerg-Rose' or Rosa truncata major is not easy to assign, as he invents names himself. Zwerg-Rose or Rosa pumila was actually the named used at the time for the single Rosa gallica L. A double, blush form of this is not known. Bertuch called another Alba as Rosa truncata, so it is possible that he was describing here a dwarf double alba, which would be in line with his drawing.
