Origin:
Bred by Ernest Levavasseur (France, 1910).
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1912 as 'Atropurpurea'.

Polyantha.  
Bloom:
Dark purple.  Semi-double to double, cluster-flowered bloom form.  Continuous (perpetual) bloom throughout the season.  
Habit:
Short, upright.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).
