Origin:
Bred by G. Delbard (France, 1977).
Class:
Floribunda.  
Bloom:
Carmine-pink, light pink reverse.   (Rose groseille).  None to mild fragrance.  20 to 24 petals.  Average diameter 2.75".  Medium, double (17-25 petals), borne mostly solitary, in small clusters, ruffled bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Medium, bushy.  Dark green foliage.  

Height: up to 32" (up to 80cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Can be used for beds and borders, container rose, cut flower or garden.  Vigorous.  Protect tender new spring growth from hard freezes that may cause canker, die-back and death of the plant. .  Remove spent blooms to encourage re-bloom.  Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood..  Requires spring freeze protection (see glossary - Spring freeze protection) .

Notes:
Roseto Botanico Carla Fineschi states year bred as 1977.
'Avalanche Rose' in commerce is not the 1977 rose (DELaval) by Delbard, but from 2003 (DELema). The date given by Delbard on their website is incorrect.
