[From "Felicitas Svejda: Who changed the way Northern Countries see Roses", by Claire Laberge & Roch Rollin, pp. 7-12]
After Dr Svejda retired, the rose breeding program was moved to Ag-Can L'Assomption Station where Ian Ogilvie (plant breeder) and Neville P. Arnold (plant physiologist) continued to release roses in the Explorer Series and worked on developing culture media for the micropropagation of all new cultivars selected for release. They introduced twelve of Dr Svejda's seedlings obtained from the tetraploid roses program. After the rose breeding program was moved again, some were also introduced from Ag-Can St-Jean-sur-Richelieu Station:

p. 26: 'Frontenac', 'Captain Samuel Holland' and 'Quadra' have been tested in Ottawa for five years.
'Frontenac' combines the attributes I had aimed for: hardiness with  along flowering season and high flower production, and resistance to powdery mildew and blackspot. It compares well to 'Champlain' in flowering attributes but is improved in hardiness and disease resistance. It is a bush rose with semi-double pink flowers; it should be more popular than it is but a pink rose does not seem to have the appeal of a red rose.
'Frontenac' is  a complex hybrid derived from B08 and 'Félix Leclerc' (U11). B08 was derived from the cross ('Queen Elizabeth' x 'Arthur Bell') x (Simonet's double red x 'Von Scharnhorst').

p. 31: D25 was the pollen parent of U11 now named 'Felix Leclerc'. U11 was the pollen parent of 'Captain Samuel Holland', 'Quadra' and 'Frontenac'
...Another Simonet hybrid was S67. It was the progenitor of Quadra, 'Frontenac' and 'Nicolas'. With the progress of the breeding program the pedigree became more complex."
