The photos seem to suggest that the blossoms bleach quickly in bright sunlight (Sangerhausen vs Cliff's Dessert garden). I wonder if this rose would benefit from an hour or two of PM shade in hot climates.

An absolutely stunning rose for me, and I've had it in two gardens now. It blooms almost continuously, and heavily -- literally covered in blooms. The little pink blooms are gorgeous, and since it's covered in them almost all the time, it's wonderful in a cottage-type garden like I have. It's disease-resistant in my western PA garden and thrives despite what I call my Darwinian approach to gardening -- I don't spray, water, cover, or deadhead. Also, it says it's only zone 6 and up. I'm zone 6, but my property is very exposed to wind, and it survives our winters just fine. The little pink blooms are gorgeous, and since it's covered in them almost all the time, it's wonderful in a cottage-type garden like I have. The deadheads are even fairly attractive!
