Bred by André Delbard-Chabert (1915-2012) (France, before 1965).
Introduced in France by Delbard/Georges Delbard SA in 1965 as 'Black Ruby'.
Introduced in United Kingdom by Cuthbert in 1965 as 'Black Ruby'.
Class:
Hybrid Tea.  
Bloom:
Crimson, lighter center.  40 petals.  Average diameter 6".  Very large, full (26-40 petals), cupped bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  Ovoid buds.  
Habit:
Tall.  Matte foliage.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.
