Discovered by Antoine Penny (France, 1928).
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1933 as 'Red Explorer'.

Bloom:
Crimson - scarlet, darker shading.  Average diameter 1.25".  Small, double (17-25 petals), in large clusters bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Climbing.  

Height: up to 9'10" (up to 300cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Hardy.  very vigorous.
