Origin:
Discovered by Dobbie & Co. Ltd. (Scotland, 1921).
Class:
Hybrid Tea.  
Bloom:
Yellow, ages to light pink .  Flowers indian yellow to clear rose.  Very large, semi-double (9-16 petals), borne mostly solitary, cupped bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Bushy.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b and warmer.  Disease susceptibility: very disease resistant.  Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.

Notes:
The former Lady Mary Bowes-Lyon, eldest sister of the Queen Mother, was born in 1883. In 1910, she married Sidney Herbert Elphinstone, 16th Lord Elphinstone (1869-1955). She died in 1961.
