‘Addo Heritage’ = A Hybrid Tea introduced by Poulsen in 1992. This variety has not been entered in any rose competitions, that is why it has not received any awards. Is still a popular rose in South Africa. Named after the ladies of Addo, Eastern Cape, So.Africa, who hold a rose show each year to raise money for literacy programs for the disadvantaged. Green-pink guard petals protect the round buds as they unfold into a symmetrical egg shape. A lovely coral pink is revealed which intensifies as the flower exposes layer upon layer of narrow petals until the fully opened rosette shape of the old fashioned rose is reached. When picked at the half open stage, the blooms will unfold very slowly and the huge open blooms will outlast all other cut roses. The bush grows vigorously into a tall, loosely spreading shrub, producing the long stemmed flowers from spring into winter. Will form a superb hedge. Tall growing. Repeat flowering. Hardy and healthy. Parentage; Unnamed seedling x unnamed seedling. Text from Penrille Olesen. Source = www.rogersroses.com.
