Bred by Joseph Pernet-Ducher (France, 1889).
Introduced in Australia by C. F. Newman and Sons - Adelaide in 1894 as 'Gustave Piganeau'.

Bloom:
Carmine-red.  Very large, full (26-40 petals), cupped, globular bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).
