According to P. Wright this was intended for trial as a hardy understock; thornless [Brian Porter] parentage disputed(Ames No. 6 acc. to WCSH 1955 [Brian Porter]) R. blanda x 'Ames Climber' WCSH History [Pittao] 'Ames 6' would appear to be best guess since Wright refers to No. 6 in his correspondence but not No. 5. [Pittao] {Elliott/Pittao}
