Origin:
Bred by Jean-Baptiste André (fils) Guillot (1827-1893) (France, 1867).
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in before 1921 as 'La France'.
Class:
Hybrid Tea.  
Bloom:
Light pink.  Strong fragrance.  60 petals.  Average diameter 3.5".  Large, full (26-40 petals), borne mostly solitary, globular, nodding or "weak neck" bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Upright.  
Height of 3' to 5' (90 to 150 cm).  Width of 3' (90 cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 7b and warmer.  Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.  Requires spring freeze protection (see glossary - Spring freeze protection) .
