Between Route 66, Midnight Blue, Ebb Tide, Night Owl, and all the other new purple roses from Carruth, which one has the darkest or best color?

Ebb Tide has the best blooms on all accounts. But the plant likes to grow to one side. Midnight Blue can have the best color if its not too hot, but the plant is more stick the leaf. Purple Heart probably has the most behaved/shaped plant, but the color is meh.

Central Texas: Has set hips with abandon this year. Best color in cooler weather. In the heat, it continues to grow and produce flowers but (no surprise) the color is less intense and flowers are much smaller. Still - overall a very cheery rose to have around. Will have to wait till next year to report on seed germination.

It does spot significantly under spring pressure. Dusting with sulfur helps (i don't use anything stronger) but just keeps it at bay. I suspect it will get better in drier weather . Just glad I have wet weather to complain about this year - better than the alternative.

One of the series of Tom Carruth roses that bring the deep purple shades to modern repeat blooming roses with good disease resistance. Most of them suffer some leaf spot in my coastal climate.
