Here the blue back ground could be darker so it does not clash with the orange blooms ??
But notice now, how much better the foliage stands out. |
After days of hot sunny 85 F. weather this rose does not loose colour until fully open. Here you can really see the "burned orange" |
Experiments with BLACK & BLUE background again!! (Also, see “Ingrid” rose for black & blue)
Two really nice fully open blooms just caught in time. This time the sun was subdued by haze.
This time I am not sure which is better ! The black should be much darker for contrast with the orange, but then the nice dark green foliage does not show up very well.
Now look at the next image with blue poster-board for background ! |
Here the same single bloom as next one.
This time with blue background with lots of shadows from low sun at about 6 PM. |

A young own root plant in a one gallon pot from the Select Roses Nursery. This plant had even more blooms at one time than any of my own budded plants. This nursery is known to produce the "BEST own root minis" in N. America !!!
For "Select Roses" nursery web site go to my web-sites links page.
There were many more blooms on it when I received the plant. Before taken this photo I cut out about 6 to 8 spend blooms.
