Notes:
Marie Joseph Paul Yves Roch Gilbert du Motier, Marquis of Lafayette [La Fayette], French statesman and general in America, was born at Chavaniac (near Brioule) Auvergne 6 September 1757. He died in Paris, France, 20 May 1834.
The synonym 'August Kordes' for 'Lafayette' in Modern Roses is incorrect. Correct is 'Auguste Kordes' for the climbing sport 'Lafayette, Cl.'

Joseph Guy is possibly Joseph Guy Marie Ropartz (June 15, 1864 Guingap - November 22, 1955 Lanloup), Breton composer
