Ended up removing this from my garden spring of 2022. After about four years of mediocre performance and high prickles, I had enough. It never got even half the size of the one I bought for a friend of mine that lives about thirty miles northwest of me. The colours were lovely, but I was disappointed that it failed to gain size.
I may try it again some day.

This rose is rudely healthy, as the British would say. I can't believe I almost shovel-pruned it because of its habit. I expected a compact bush like a floribunda. It is a tall hybrid tea with flowers that look nothing like hybrid teas. I kept trying to whack it back, but I realize now it is best left to grow like a hybrid tea. The flowers are fleeting, but can be very beautiful, especially in cooler months. The two-tone peach and yellow is quite beautiful.

At Heirlooms in Oregon, they have it growing as a 6' x 6' shrub. It is really pretty, as it seems to have large blooms at the edge of the entire plant -- kind of like a rustic sunset.

Hardiness for this variety is about zone 5b. This year we had an average winter in terms of snowfall and temps. Some tips were damaged but most of the branches, even those exposed to the wind, suffered very little damage and are budding out very nicely. I recomend the hardiness be changed to at least zone 5b.

I tried to delete the photo of Lafter that uploaded
in a sideways view, but it still shows the small thumbnail. How does that get removed?
I have fixed the rotation problem and would like to reupload the corrected pic of Lafter.
