Bred by Rudolf Geschwind (1829-1910) (Austria-Hungary (former), before 1910).
Introduced in Germany by Peter Lambert in 1913 as 'Geisha'.
Class:
Hybrid Multiflora.  
Bloom:
Scarlet - crimson, white stripes.  None to mild fragrance.  Medium to large, full (26-40 petals), cupped, flat bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.  
Habit:
Climbing, thornless (or almost).  

Height: up to 9'10" (up to 300cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Hardy.  vigorous.
